At Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice we have embarked on an ambitious and innovative programme of service redesign to enable us to reach more individuals and their families, carers and loved ones than ever before.

We believe hospice care can be delivered in any setting. Whether directly by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, through the health and social care professionals we educate or by organisations we work in partnership with such as prisons, care homes, hospitals and general practices. To ensure the best hospice care is available for all individuals, families and carers and loved ones across our community, wherever and whenever they need it.

To support our ambitious plans, we are looking for an exceptional individual to take on the role of Relief Bank Shop Manager to provide supervisory cover for Shop Manager / Assistant Manager during periods of absence or non-availability EG, holiday, sickness, and training. This may be at any of the charity chain of shops as detailed on the hospice website & only as briefed by Retail District Manager.

Birmingham St Mary’s retail operation is a community based shopping experience with 16 successful shops in our portfolio. Our shops are of the highest standard and are vibrant, innovative and value for money. We have a commitment to growth and there is no ceiling to our ambition.

Reporting to the District Retail Manager and directly responsible for the business during periods of absence, the purpose of the Relief Bank Shop Manager is to maximise the shop income, by supervising the day to day operations to the highest standard, providing excellent customer service to both donors & customers by managing & motivating the volunteer team.

You will have previously demonstrated your ability to recruit, motivate and support teams of volunteers.

The successful candidate will be passionate, energetic and outgoing, and motivated by our mission and ambition ‘Hospice care for all’.

It is essential for the post holder to be flexible to work additional hours at short notice.

This role is based in Birmingham.
