Following 11 years as Director of Services at Teenage Cancer Trust, in April 2018 Simon became CEO at Donna Louise Children’s Hospice in Stoke on Trent. In January 2021 he was appointed CEO of Birmingham St Mary’s and John Taylor Hospices, now known as Birmingham Hospice.
Simon trained as a Nurse in the early 90’s specialising in cancer and has a BSc Honours in Oncology Nursing. He then moved into NHS management and gained an MSc in NHS Policy and Management.
Simon has worked in a variety of roles developing nurse education programmes, implementing NICE cancer guidance, development of ambulatory care centres and the commissioning of new patient services in a variety of specialist areas.
