Birmingham Hospice, formed by the merger of Birmingham St Mary’s and John Taylor Hospices, is looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses to join its Inpatient Unit.
We are looking for innovative, motivated, enthusiastic, patient-centred nurses who are dynamic and passionate about nursing, to help us deliver the highest possible standard of palliative and end of life care to our patients, their families and loved ones. The posts involve working within a multi-disciplinary team offering specialist palliative care to patients in our Inpatient Unit.
Our staff nurses are responsible for assessing the care needs of our patients; developing, implementing and evaluating appropriate programmes of care and support; and ensuring the physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional needs of our patients and their loved ones are met. Additionally, you will be be expected to supervise, mentor and support Band 2/3 staff and contribute to providing training to junior colleagues.
Outstanding communication skills are needed to fulfil this role.
You must be a UK, 1st level registered nurse, and have evidence of continuous professional development, with an excellent standard of nursing care and clinical knowledge. If this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to receive your application.
