Birmingham Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care for people and their families living with life-limiting illnesses. We believe that all people in Birmingham should have access to the best specialist care and support – when, where, and how they need it.
Our Income Generation Team is seeking to appoint an In-Memory Fundraiser, to support all aspects of In-Memory income at the hospice.
In this challenging role, you will be required to co-ordinate all the In-Memory income streams, monitoring and reporting on in-memory income and activity. You will support the Individual Giving Manager, to whom you will report, with appeals, events and marketing activities. You will contribute to supporter experience and engagement, ensuring all databases and records of donations are accurate.
If this sounds like the role for you then we’d love to receive your application.
Informal enquiries are encouraged and can be made to Katie West at katie.west@birminghamhospice.org.uk.
Requirements:
- You will be educated to A Level or equivalent or possess significant relevant experience.
- You will have experience of project management, researching and presenting findings, and report writing.
- You will have knowledge of fundraising or company databases.
- You will possess exemplary communication and organisational skills and able to manage a complex and demanding workload.
Key benefits
- Free onsite parking.
- Free tea, coffee and toast.
- We’re happy to talk about flexible working, including those with caring responsibilities – while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we’ll try to find a practical solution.
- Birmingham Hospice is committed to colleague development as an ongoing professional requirement and consider this a priority.
- For individuals joining the charity from the NHS or another hospice, the employee’s continuous previous service with any NHS employer is recognised in respect of pension provision and annual leave.
- A supportive work environment, with a focus on your mental health and wellbeing.
- Free emotional, health and financial support.
Katie West (left) joined our charity as Senior Community and Corporate Fundraising Manager, and now works as Senior Fundraising and Supporter Experience Manager, where she has developed her career by gaining experience in areas such as Individual Giving and Legacy Fundraising.
She said: “Individual Giving is a growth area which is exceeding its targets, despite the challenging fundraising environment we’re operating in. We’re having some real successes, including our first ever door to door fundraising campaign, and it’s an area where the charity is making a significant investment.
“We’re a friendly, close-knit, supportive team and you really feel part of everything the hospice does. You know in this role that you’re helping it to deliver vital care in Birmingham.”
The hospice is committed to developing a dynamic and diverse workforce, representative of the communities it serves. We ask you, therefore, to complete the Equal Opportunities monitoring form to help us in this aim.
We value each person as an individual – whether they are colleagues, patients, family members, carers or supporters, every person matters. We embrace diversity of culture, background and environment knowing it enriches our workplace and our relationships with our local communities. We are committed to building a culture of inclusion and belonging. We would love to hear from you, about what makes you uniquely you and how this opportunity will support you to succeed.
Our Values
Our values are at the heart of everything we do as we continue in our mission to enable more people from all communities to access the care of their choice at the end of life.
