Are you an experienced Facilities Manager who is looking for a new challenge? Would you like to work for an organisation with a strong focus on delivering outstanding patient care?

At Birmingham Hospice our teams are committed to improving the quality of life for people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families and loved ones during one of the most challenging periods they will ever face.

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to manage a unified facilities and housekeeping service across both our sites at Erdington and Selly Park.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day services covering facilities, maintenance and housekeeping for the charity. You will ensure that the services are responsive, systems are safe, fit for purpose and enhance patient care. As Facilities Manager you will be responsible for providing assurance to the Executive Board that the hospice is compliant with relevant legislation, including estates and facilities legislation and health and safety legislation.

You will be someone who can work flexibility, meeting deadlines, possessing excellent communication, organisation, people management and IT skills.

In return, we offer the opportunity to be part of an amazing charity which offers a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, wellbeing programmes, comprehensive training and the opportunity to develop your career in Facilities Management.

"The team and colleagues are all very supportive and we really see the difference we can make."

Sally, People Team Manager at Birmingham Hospice, has worked here for seven years.

“I love my job as it’s very varied – one day I can be meeting our new starters at our induction day, another day I can be supporting a wellbeing event and then on another day I can be testing our HR and Payroll system as part of an upgrade. There are lots of opportunities to get involved.

“The team and colleagues are all very supportive and we really see the difference we can make in the People Team to our colleagues, volunteers and the patients we support.”

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The hospice is committed to developing a dynamic and diverse workforce, representative of the communities it serves. We ask you, therefore, to complete the Equal Opportunities monitoring form to help us in this aim.

We value each person as an individual – whether they are colleagues, patients, family members, carers or supporters, every person matters. We embrace diversity of culture, background and environment knowing it enriches our workplace and our relationships with our local communities. We are committed to building a culture of inclusion and belonging. We would love to hear from you, about what makes you uniquely you and how this opportunity will support you to succeed.
