Join our team
Our Specialist Therapists ensure care and support is provided using a collaborative and holistic approach for each individual patient and their family or carers.
Using their expert knowledge and skills, our team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Workers provide a range of services for people within our Inpatient Units, Living Well Centres and within patients’ own homes to promote and support physical function, independence and wellbeing.

The main purpose of this role is to provide physiotherapy input, as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team, for patients referred for specialist palliative and end of life care. You will be responsible for planning and delivering holistic care to patients, their families and carers on the physiotherapy caseload, both in the community and at the hospice. You will provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to patients following the HCPC clinical standards of care and CSP profession al Codes of Conduct.
The successful candidate will receive day-to-day managerial and professional support from a team of experienced Palliative Care Therapists.

Requirements
- You will have an honours degree level or equivalent in physiotherapy and be registered with the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC), and be a member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
- You will have significant postgraduate experience, working with a variety of patients in different physiotherapy specialities
- You will be patient focussed and passionate about holistic care for the palliative patient. Ideally, you will have experience in this field or transferrable skills that can be utilised for this specialist role.
- Preferably have attained advanced communication (certificate) and excellent interpersonal skills and can work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A driver’s licence and access to a car for work purposes is essential to this role.

Andy, who works as a Physiotherapist, joined the hospice after many years as a practitioner.
Having worked in a variety of settings including acute hospitals, GP surgeries, sport, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Andy felt ready for a change. Before even applying for the job, he came in to meet the friendly team, which completely swayed his decision to apply.
