Birmingham International Marathon To be staged for the first time on Sunday 15th October 2017, this 26.2 mile event will be the inaugural run of the newly formed Great Run Marathon series. This is the first full marathon to take place in Birmingham since 1989, and it promises to be a huge occasion. If you'd like to take on this challenge whilst supporting your local Hospice why not take one of our FREE event places? UPDATE: We're down to our last 5 places for the marathon so sign up today to avoid missing out! The Birmingham International Marathon will start at Alexander Stadium, the home of British Athletics. The course will then take in a number of the city's most iconic landmarks before finishing in the city centre. The event, which will be staged on the same day as the Great Birmingham Run, will be a notable occasion with an aim to see over 8,000 + runners cross the finish line. This event will be a huge celebration of running for all, offering an ideal opportunity to improve the strength and depth of British marathon running.
